It's a 2 part stencil.

We painted a flat wood canvas with our background then stenciled the tree and copy. We added some shading to the tree then once that was dry we placed the 2nd stencil to use embossing medium for the snow on the tree, snowflakes and stars. We allowed the embossing medium to dry overnight and placed the stencil down again to paint the large star with gold metallic paint.
