Mom’s cabinet

So many nooks and crannies

Inspiration photo

Painted inside the base cabinets too.

Prepping the doors

Selected new hardware

I remembered to start with the top upside down.

Almost done!

mom’s china cabinet project

Our customer brought over his mom’s solid oak cabinet from across the country to make it fit in to their more modern looking condo.

  • prep: removed all hardware and glass then scuff sanded with rotary sander and 100 grit paper. Finished off with a wash of Fusion TSP alternative.

  • paint: Fusion Mineral Paint Ash and back board was stained with 2 coats of Driftwood SFO

  • coats: 2 inside and outside with a 3rd coat on the top surface (total 2 pints of paint)

  • time it took me: all together it was around 18 hours ish

  • brush: StaahlMeester SPALTER BRUSH - ONE SERIES 100mm *chef’s kiss*

  • new: drawer knobs to match with existing hinges

additional notes:

There was a broken pane of glass that we replaced with the help of Tyrell’s Auto Glass for around $25. I always take the glass out of the doors because I hate cutting in, taping and picking around it not to mention it’s easier to really clean up that glass without the mullions in the way.
